• Welcome. I am Michael Wayne Altizer, owner of The Virginia Home Inspector.  If you are searching for a home inspector that will give you the best representation, you have found him. I am your professional — hired by you — to search and find defects, or areas of concern, and to help you determine the condition of the home or building.

• Choosing the right inspector could mean the difference between finding hundreds or thousands of dollars in problems — or not finding them at all. What should you look for? What types of skills or credentials are required? The inspector’s skill and credentials are extremely important. A knowledgeable contractor with years of experience does not mean that he will be thorough in all areas of the home. The training or experience of an inspector is very important, but it still does NOT guarantee a thorough inspection.

• The inspector’s ability to find defects is the most important criteria. No matter the experience or the training, the inspector must be able to find the defects. I suggest to you that the best way to determine the right inspector is by trust. Trust me to represent you with sincere integrity and diligence and I will be the right choice. How do you know that I am the right choice? Because, I will trust you first with this pledge: After the inspection, if you feel that I did not do my best to find and report all that I could on the condition of the home, I will refund your fee to me if you ask. Let me give you assurance that you will be glad you found me.

• I understand that you have many choices. That is why I would like to explain to you why I am the best choice for your home inspector. I realize that this home, or building, you are purchasing is a huge investment, and it is my job to do my best to protect you from major defects. My goal is to be prepared when I arrive at the home and to be proud to represent you. I will record all my findings for you, help you understand the implications of the findings, and direct you as necessary to a corrective resolution.

• I am extremely thorough and represent my customer with the highest integrity. Home Inspectors are not alike even though we are supposed to practice under the same standards. Choosing a home inspector should be your decision or a recommendation from a friend. If you want the best inspector in this area, I am the one. After reviewing my inspection you will feel confident, you made the correct choice by calling me. I am very much in demand and want to stay that way. I do so by proving my excellence on every inspection.

• You deserve the best and the most thorough report. All of our inspections are performed with a state of the art computerized report complete with digital images and clear direction.  My report is computer generated with digital pictures, and arrows pointing to any problems. The report is clear and easy to understand. I will make every effort to discover and report any defects or areas of concern to you.
